Sir Alexander Fleming was a great scientist. He was born in Scotland on 6th August, 1881. He was a brilliant student at school .At the age of 11, he got a scholarship from Kilmarnock Academy. When he was 13, he moved to London and started to live with his brothers. He continued his education at the Polytechnic School and worked for 4 years in a shipping Office, but he wanted to become a doctor like his brother, Tom. In 1903, he decided to study medicine at St Mary’s Hospital in London and became a doctor. In 1915, he met Sarah Marion Mc Elroy and they got married. They had a son. He discovered penicilin in 1928 and won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1945. Fleming died on 11th March, 1955.
